The Cry For Justice

This week our nation has been roughly divided in a storm that has been brewing all summer. Racial tensions are at an all-time high as two grand jury decisions have sharply impacted this nation in a furor of misdirection from all sides, along with misinformation creating a great degree of mistrust in those who are suppose to be the peace keepers. What I believe about these two cases and decisions is not important here. I’m not here to add to the debate but I am here to bring a perspective that has not been heard.

I believe that God has a great deal to say regarding the state of crisis we have wandered into but unfortunately the pressure to either stick to the lies of the media, or what race-baiters (on both sides) are saying, that many have chosen to be silent. The truth, is that God has appointed people to step forward and declare within their sphere of influence what the Spirit is saying but they haven’t. To be silent on crucial, controversial issues of the day as believers is broadcasting to the world that God has nothing to say on the issues of the day. GOD IS NOT SILENT! HE CARES! HE IS CONCERNED FOR US!

1970398_10152710529466336_5695919392349157472_nThe unrest in our nation is disconcerting because it is the human nature taking over and many, even believers, giving into the flesh and siding on the side of hatred when He is the Prince of Peace. Remember this, that the enemy if he can, will deceive the elect (those who place their faith and trust in God) and I believe that is what we are seeing.

As believers we should be bring the Kingdom of Heaven with us everywhere we go. The majority of believers have either been silent or stirring the pot of racial tension; very few have sought peace, this MUST change. I believe as Christians we should strive to bring the Prince of Peace into every situation; especially those that would only bring division. As carriers of the Holy Ghost we share the concerns of injustice God cries out within us.  Just as Romans teaches us that creation cries out for redemption so do we! That is why injustice on either end is universally distasteful. No one wants to see an injustice carried out. However, our demand for justice must be motivated with the heart for peace. A demand of justice with any other reason will bring discord and division as we have seen played out over the past couple of weeks across America.

Many in the media have been advancing the fact-less10392347_10152710534496336_4334005412163108527_n narrative of injustice and inequality driven by people who profit from racial division. The sad truth is that many Christians instead of seeking out the truth have just believed what they heard and allowed seeds of hatred to be sown in their hearts. We must guard against the plans of the enemy to divide our hearts. If we would stand united in answering the hurt of our fellow countrymen this situation would be dealt with swiftly. The division brought has only impeded the process of peace and resolution. I am in no way of saying this is an easy issue to face or understand, because its not but we are doing everyone (ourselves included) an injustice by sitting on the sidelines.

On either end of the divide, instead of complaining we should be praying, instead of protesting we should be opening dialogue with our city, state and national leaders (governmental and civil), instead of rioting we should be actively demonstrating the Kingdom in acts of tremendous love and care. Remember we are called to be ambassadors for the Prince of Peace. We must step forward in the role and authority that we have been given to bring peace to our troubled nation.

When it seems the darkest, remember that is when the light shines the brightest. Again we, as Christians, have an opportunity to take what the enemy has determined to bring destruction and division to let God invade our communities and bring peace. To turn the tables of hatred into a feast of His Presence. If we corporately respond in love we can see revival come out of the darkness and show many His great love for all of us.

In the end, the cry for justice has been heard and God is calling us to step forward and be the Church that He intends. A Church that is not silent nor sits on the sidelines till the storm has passed. What will you do?
